Celebrate Halloween 2017 in Winnipeg!
Pumpkin Spice everything, spooky stores popping up and kids dreaming up crazy costumes can only mean one thing, Halloween is just around the corner! There seems to be more activities available every year so check back often, updates will be added as events are announced. Keep an eye on the bottom this post for the shopping mall trick or treat nights and if you know any Halloween Haunted Houses, let us know so they get added to our list of amazing houses to visit!
They grow every size and try to find new varieties every year. They grow white pumpkins, red pumpkins, blue pumpkins, warty pumpkins, minis, medium, large, and jumbo PUMPKINS!
At the Meandher Creek Pumpkin Patch it’s not all about pumpkins. It’s about family fun, at it’s best, on the farm! We offer family activities for the young and the young at heart.
Corn Mazes and Haunted Places
Daily from October 2 to 31 (except October 8 & 9)
For kids ages 2-10, this not-so-scary indoor playground features a haymaze, tire swings, bouncy castle, ziplines, face painting and more! A great way to get into the Halloween spirit! Just $5 per child; proceeds benefit local charities.
Monday – Saturday from 9:30am-4:30pm, Thursdays from 9:30am-7:30pm, Sundays from 11:30-4:30. Ideal for children ages 2-10.
October 15, 22, 29, 1pm – 2pm
Take a magical experience filled with laughter in this 45 minute show by Ryan Price. Registration is required. Limited space available. COST: $12 per child, includes Fun Zone admission, popcorn and juice box. Register at shelmerdine.com/events/
Adventure trails for the whole family. Come out and enjoy a day out in the corn maze and play a variety of fun activities. Located 45 minutes South of Winnipeg, activities include a 10 acre corn maze plus 3 other outdoor mazes, 3 indoor mazes including a black light maze, house of mirrors, mini golf and more
Located just 10 minutes south of Winnipeg near St. Adolphe. It is Manitoba’s leading corn maze.
Deer Meadow Farms Corn Maze is just 5 miles north of Winnipeg near Bird’s Hill Park.
Six Pines Haunted Attractions takes place on an old 1911 farm just 2.5 miles north of the Perimeter Hwy on Sturgeon Road, just minutes north of the City of Winnipeg. During the day Six Pines will take you and your family for a trip back to that mysterious place, somewhere far away from the homeland of Transylvania; the place known as Castle Frightenstone… Six Pines offers family trick-or-treat fun with a variety of “fang”tastic events for boys and ghouls of all ages. No reservations are required on the weekends. Venues continuous every 10-15 minutes.
Located just 15 minutes north of the Winnipeg perimeter near Stonewall. Admission includes the corn maze, hay ride, hay maze, petting zoo and train ride with free bonfires every Saturday night.
Halloween Haunt – Marine Museum of Manitoba
October 20,21, 22, 27, 28 & 29
6 – 9pm (if in line @ 9 you will get in!)
Children under 6 are FREE
This is our scariest ship and not recommended for children under 15. Parental discretion is advised. 14 years and under must have an adult accompany them. If you dare enter, there is no turning back! If you decide halfway thru that you can’t continue, there is a spot you can “exit with dignity”!

This ship is for young children to enjoy. It is decorated and nobody will scare them!
Children can walk thru this ship and enjoy Halloween without the scare!

This ship hosts nightly scheduled events such as, face painting and live entertainment. Our concession is also located on this ship where you can enjoy caramel apples, drinks and other treats!

Fright at the Fort has returned to Lower Fort Garry!
The Governor invites you to a circus gone awry! The performers have fled, the ringmaster is missing and the animals are on the loose!
Wander at your own risk through the macabre menagerie. Explore the abandoned performers’ camp, creep through the frightening fun house, and watch your back for eerie entertainers hiding in dark corners of the stone fort walls.

October 22, 28 and 29, 11 am – 4 pm
Halloween thrills await pint sized trick-or-treaters at the Stone Fort as it transforms into Lower Fort Scary. Hop aboard the Scary Express as you head towards adventure.
Find ghosts hiding in the fur loft, be amazed by the magician’s tricks, explore the witch’s pantry, have your face painted or dig in and do a Halloween craft.
Warm up with hot chocolate and cookies as you get your Boo Pass stamped at each stop to claim your goodie bag full of treats!
October 26 to 31 @ The Burton Cummings Theatre
Audiences will tip toe through the bowels of the theatre, winding their way from room to room. En route, they encounter the theatre’s ghosts, whose morbid ends and shattered dreams lay bare for a terrified audience, especially the beloved theatre performer Mabel Hackney, whose ethereal soul has rumoured to be present in the Burton Cummings Theatre for years.

Expect the unexpected when you enter Terror on 12 for 45 minutes of unspeakable horrors. Not recommended for young children.

This year’s movie features will include The Addams Family and The Conjuring and both will be shown on our giant inflatable screen!

Food and drinks will be available at the RBC Convention Centre concession stand.

October 14, 6pm – 9pm, Bird’s Hill Park Ranch
Sammy, the itsy bitsy spider, has been spider-knapped from the park and the Interpreters need your help tracking him down. Without spiders in our park, we are being overrun with mosquitoes, beetles and other creepy crawlies. Help us find Sammy before it’s too late!
Wear your costume, if you dare, and take in the interpretive activities – a guided hike, face painting, campfire, crafts and a haunted forest.
For a small fee the Birds Hill Park Ranch will also be offering spooky hay rides throughout the event.

Join us for a special Halloween Movie Mania, showing “Hotel Transylvania”! Doors open 11:30am, movie starts at noon…spooky “graveyard lunch” items available!
October 22, 1pm – 5pm – Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain
Trinity Events is throwing the biggest and most fun filled Kids Halloween Party ever!!!!! Wear your costume!! There will be tons of games, contests and prizes, trick or treating, dancing, surprise guests, light snacks and beverages and oh, so much more!! In Support of The Children’s Wish Foundation Manitoba Chapter.

Transcona BIZ hosts the second annual Halloween party! Wear your Halloween costume and come down to the Transcona Scouts Hall on Oct 27th at 6:00 PM to check out the spooky pumpkin patch, vote for your favourite, have some Halloween treats, and watch Hotel Transylvania 2.
Halloween Howl – Manitoba Children’s Museum

TRICK-OR-TREAT! Want a night of Halloween DELIGHT? Then join us for fangtastic family entertainment at the 21st Annual Halloween Howl! Safely trick-or-treat in 12 indoor ghastly galleries, participate in spooktacular activities, make creepy crafts, and have some ghoulish fun!
Brick or Treat – Halloween Building Fun (Grades 1-5)
Kids join us for two hours of Halloween LEGO building fun! We’ll build some creepy things but don’t worry, it will be fun and not scary.
Work on a haunted house, build a creepy, crawly spider that actually moves (yes, it’s motorized!), build some Halloween figures, try your hand at some ghoulish mosaics and do some pumpkin science too. At the end, choose which items from our mini Brick Store you would like to include in your treat bag to take home.

Spooky Science Family Night – Engineering Atrium, University of Manitoba
Trick or treat! Let’s Talk Science at the University of Manitoba is hosting their annual Spooky Science Family Night! This FREE event is geared towards children in grades 4-9 and their families. There will be 5 to 6 exciting, Science Halloween-themed, hands-on activities. In addition, there will be a chemistry magic show at scheduled intervals throughout the day. All are welcome to attend. Invite friends, co-workers, and other members of your family to join in on this haunted day to unlock the mysteries of science!
FortWhyte Alive – Halloween in the Forest
October 29, 1pm – 3pm
Join in on some Halloween fun! Take part in a scavenger hunt in the forest, stop by the spooky Sod House, and do a festive craft in the Interpretive Centre. FREE with regular admission. While supplies last.

Halloween Spooktacular – Assiniboine Park Zoo
Join us at the Zoo for special spooky fun activities every weekend in October!
Starting October 7, our very scary Dinosaurs Alive exhibit, presented by Artis REIT, will be specially decorated by Spirit Halloween! Plus we’ll have extra weekend activities including face painting, ghost story time, and creepy animal keeper talks.
October 28 & 29 – 3001 Roblin Boulevard
This year, for the first time, the AVR will offer Hallowe’en-themed rides on the weekend before Hallowe’en: October 28 & 29, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Usual prices apply: Tickets: 1 ride – $2, 12 ride pass – $20 (good for any AVR Public Event). Kids 2 & under ride free. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
There will be some decorations & costumes, but not too scary!
